The Lotus Centre sits on the site of the former Lotus Holistic Centre which was founded by Glenda Palmer some 30 years ago.
Glenda co-directed the centre with Alison Grace until selling it in 2016 to the New Zealand College of Chinese Medicine. NZCCM then operated it as the Lotus Campus, continuing to teach both the massage and naturopathy diplomas.
Part of what has always attracted people to study at Lotus has been its intimate size and the centre has always imparted a sense of family and loving energy.
After the closure of the Lotus Campus in December 2017, Jenny Allan opened The Lotus Centre on the western-most corner of the site. Returning to the 'interest' courses once offered by the Lotus Holistic Centre, Jenny now brings massage and myriad other natural health classes back to the community.
As well as community classes in subjects such as massage and yoga, there are many practitioners now working from Lotus delivering services such as massage, reflexology, reiki, naturopathy, aromatherapy and herbal medicine.
